twentythreefive says goodbye.
I’ve finally succeeded in migrating all my blog posts to my nonline iweb for posterity. So the only think left to do here is...hit the delete button.
I have taken down all the posts and am leaving this message here for a little while as a sort of eulogy.
This has been my one and only blogging adventure and the end of an era has come.
I started the blog on october 9, 2004 so it is about 3 years, 7 months, and 2 weeks old as I write this.
Reading over all the posts have brought back a lot of memories. I realise that I need to start creating some real rituals in life that can sustain themselves independent of online or pop culture trends.
My life has changed so much. Of course, on the surface it looks like it has changed immensely for the better. Of course. But I am tired of life changing so fast without ever putting down any real roots anywhere.
A few weeks ago, I went back home for 9 days to visit family. It was good, but I realised I have really left that place for good. I am so relieved. It was absolutely necessary, but sad nevertheless. I guess the worst part about right now (as good as it is) is that I don’t know where I will be in another year from now. The unpredictableness is hard.
I am saying goodbye to this because I am not here to market myself as an individual in this world. I am here to be a part of it.
I read an article in the Washington Post last week that said Japanese people are the number one bloggers online. The thing that sustains them the most is that they don’t blog to stand out, but just to blend in and record their lives and their communities in all of life’s mundane everyday aspects. Maybe one day again.
For now, I bid you all farewell. This blog definitely had its heyday. Some of it was funny, and some of it was annoying...like I can’t remember being so happy.
At any rate, take care and maybe I will see some of you in my nonline world.
